The
Mesoamerican Jade Museum is part of the cultural infrastructure of
La CASA del
JADE
(the
House of the Jade), a leading enterprise in the knowledge and handling of
the Jade in Mesoamerica. In our workshops in San Cristóbal de Las Casas
and Antigua Guatemala, this precious stone with great historical and
cultural meaning is worked and transformed by expert craftsmen and
designers, who combining it with gold and silver, achieve high-quality
jewels, given a exclusivity and distinction seal. The jade comes from
ancient sources located in the mountains of Chalchihuitan, 50 km north of
San Cristóbal de Las Casas in Chiapas and from the basins of the Motagua
River in Guatemala.
We work as
well compiling the history, making archaeological reproductions of this
precious mineral, which are exact copies of the originals, which can be
found in museums and private collections all over the world. All our
reproductions are accompanied by its information certificate and a
certificate backed up by official archaeological institutions of Mexico,
Guatemala, Honduras or Belize, according to the origin of the reproduction.
When you
acquire a jewel of an archaeological reproduction through
La CASA del
JADE
(the House
of the Jade) you take with you a little piece of our planet, which started
to be conformed in the earth crust 400 million years ago. You also take with
you a fragment of the history of the precolombian people of America.
The Jade has always been a symbol of eternal love.
